Flatbush had a big tree fall and crush a car. It also knocked out power lines for blocks. The event took place around 2 a.m. on Wednesday when it was pouring rain in the area. The tree was on Snyder Avenue, close to Rodgers Avenue. People who live there say the wind picked up and they heard a loud crash outside.

They saw the mess the tree had made when they left their homes to find out what was going on. Eyewitness News was told by neighbors that they were scared something like this could happen. They have reported the tree dozens of times. They thought it looked bad and thought it might fall over at some point.

People from the city had come to check on this tree before, but Petal Johnson says they were told there was nothing wrong. “We called and asked them to please check the tree. Jones said, “They keep sending people out and telling us, ‘There’s nothing wrong with the tree.'”

“You can see from where we just looked at the root where the tree broke, the tree is bad.” Several cars’ windshields were broken when tree branches fell on them. and there were wires all over the cars, All morning, crews worked to clean up the mess and fix the poles, but the job was going to take a while.
